Another home run by Ms. Loch! What a way to end the series......such a sweet courageous story that absolutely grabs you from the beginning and you don't want to let go at the end. And yet, you do, and happily.

I cannot express how much I've enjoyed reading this entire series and book 4 brought it all to such a perfect ending. There is so much depth to the main characters, Connor and Mairi, and the changes they go through just to survive are insurmountable, or so you would think.

They both suffered tremendous personal losses in their lives and carry guilt because of it. How they get passed their survivors remorse and come together is such a beautiful story. During this rediscovery period, they are being pursued relentlessly by the King of England's hired killers. Long shanks, the King of England, is trying desperately to murder his son's bastard infant, Adam. Once the King passes and his son inherits the throne, things quiet down for a short period of time, just enough time for them to take a breather and realize how far they've come and how much they have come to mean to each other.

But then It starts all over again when the new King Edward wants his son. There is tremendous heartbreak and joy in this story. There are evil men and good souls. There is time for lots of laughter and time sorrow. When the passion hits the pages, its a real burner! Enough raw sex with unbridled passion to keep you warm throughout the cold winter months......who knew! 😋

It is a series that will keep you coming back for more of Ms. Loch. I highly, highly recommend you read this series, and read it in order.....I think it would make for a smoother flow with the characters and stories. Either way, just read it......you won't regret it! Happy reading! Cheers! 🍻

It was a well written story and I enjoyed it very much. I will be reading more of her book's.
Would of liked to have another book in the mist series. This one did drag at bit at times but I had to find out what happened next.
Great read. Author writes a wonderful love story about two people who have suffered tragic losses in the past. As they fight the danger that threatens them, they learn to trust each other, like each other and care for each other. Can they overcome their fear and grief and learn to love again? I would have given it a five but I felt there was too much graphic sex, when the detailed scenes weren't necessary in describing their love story.
This book was a richly-drawn novel, with lots of historical detail. I thoroughly enjoyed the story - the character development, the historical background, and the plot were all top-notch. The sex scenes were almost as hot as the blacksmith's forge!
I especially enjoyed the Author's Note at the end, in which the author explained how this story brought itself to life, and her process of delivering the tale as accurately as possible. I've often wondered how a book came to be, and to learn the origins and research required was edifying for me. Kudos for a job well done.
I have enjoyed this book just as much as the others in the series! The story is great with suspense and romance and a great overall story line. I am reading the kindle version, and have had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. The only problem I noticed was that the characters ate potatoes, and these weren't introduced to Europe till about 250 years later. Otherwise, a great story! No problems at all. I have looked forward to this book coming out, and was not disappointed.
I really liked this story. I got it as a free download recently and decided to take a chance even though it showed only 3-1/2 stars, as sometimes I don't agree with folks, which was the case here. Also I suspected the reason for the poor ratings had to do with technical issues, based on comments that the author had corrected some problems. I actually liked this so much that I will be buying others in this series, because now I want to know the rest of the stories. Isn't that the reason for free books in the first place? So that we will buy more. It was also rather refreshing to see a strong story line with well developed characters who were not the standard Laird and Lady format, but showing more fully the background of what would otherwise be supporting positions. Well edited, for those whe care.

At the end of the digital book was a nice addendum by the author on how she writes and how the characters actually tell her their stories, for those of use who often wonder about how this art form is accomplished, which I found interesting.
