I was a little worried in the beginning, because of the way her father treated her so coldly. I knew there was a reason behind the way Brielle acted out. I didn't know what it was, but after the things she revealed, it all makes sense. Colt on the other hand was ruthless in the very beginning, and I didn't much like him. But they both started to grow on me, and by the end I was rooting for them both.

It was good to see the Anderson brothers back together again. I don't know why, but I just can't seem to get enough of those meddling tornado's. LOL! And that's the way they roll. They come in a swoop you up into their devious plot and won't stop until they get what they want, especially Joseph. I would have loved to see more of them in this story. In fact; when I read the part about the party, I thought surely Joseph would show up and give Brielle the shock of her life, but that didn't happen.

I enjoyed the meddling threesome in town, too. If anyone has ever lived in a small town atmosphere, then you know this aspect seems so true. Every small town has their own little busy bodies to contend with, no matter what small town you live in.

Great story. Now I can't wait until the next book comes out. The new series coming out, sounds like it'll be a great, too.

Hidden Treasure The Andersons Book 9 edition by Melody Anne Trevino Creative Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Brielle is the youngest and only girl. She has had led a privileged life. Till her father issues an ultimatum, succeed at a certain task or no more money or inheritance. She drags her feet and ends up in a ranch. She hates it at first. She meets Colt on the first day and makes the assumption he works for her. He doesn't correct her just wants her to leave so he can buy the land. Soon however things change and love takes over. Will he tell her the truth, will she embrace the ranch life and make it a success. You need to read this book
Richard had a meeting with all of his kids. He told them he had cut off their credit cards, and trust funds. He bought each child a failing property/business, and wanted each of his kids to turn the business around. Richard wanted each of his kids to experience what success felt like after working hard for it. He placed the deeds to the properties on a table, leaving his sons, and daughter to fight for which one they wanted. Brielle didn't want any part of this. She walked out of the meeting before it was over. She did good for a year, but then the place she worked for went out of business. She couldn't find another job. She had no choice but to beg her dad to give her a chance. The last property left was a ranch in Montana.

The story was really good. I could feel the frustrations that Brielle was going through. She wanted to learn, but no one wanted to teach her. Her ranch hands didn't think a city girl stood a chance. I loved the humorous parts in this book that had me laughing. The romance between colt and Brielle was steamy, and sweet. The book described small town living as it really is. I've lived in small towns, and everyone knows everyone. The gossip is always better than the news of a morning newspaper.

I love this whole series. This book is a stand alone, but each book is worth reading.
This was actually my first Melody Anne book, but I must say that it will not be my last. This was a quick, enjoyable read (I finished this in about 4-5 hours of quick reading), and was truly disappointed to see it end. The characters weren't perfect; they were, in fact, flawed, and that made me feel as if there was a little more depth than your typical contemporary romance.

Brielle is a spoiled brat. In fact, at the beginning of the book, I was struggling to really like her. I didn't like her brattiness on the ranch, the fact that she seemed to give up, at times, quite easily and treated people rudely. I initially had a hard time relating to someone who can talk to people the way she did. Also, I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who have to go do what daddy told them to do because they will lose their million/billion dollar trust fund. Especially as I am reading this book at a time when I should be working myself, for pay that is 1/25,000 of that amount. But I digress. The feeling of "un-relatability" to Brielle passed quickly though. As the book progressed, and Brielle developed as a person, and "found herself" in Montana, she changed. And I enjoyed watching it.

Colt was the consummate cowboy. Tall, dark, handsome, (rich doesn't hurt), but not entirely honest with Brielle about who he is or what he has. I loved this. I loved that I knew what the final conflict would be the entire book, while watching two completely opposite people fall in love with each other (I love it when the hero will have groveling to do in the end, and in this book, you see it coming from page 2).

There was one point that I found a little hard to believe. That being why doesn't Brielle find out that Colt doesn't work for her when she sees that she isn't issuing a paycheck to him? As the owner of a ranch, wouldn't she at least see some payroll checks going out (or to whom they aren't going out)? As a non-rancher, perhaps that is handled elsewhere or by someone else, but I found Brielle being in the dark about some things - and staying there for most of the book - a little unrealistic.

Overall, however, a GREAT, quick read. I gave it four stars because I feel the ending was a little rushed; or maybe I am just mad because the book ended before I was ready to see it end. Great book.
