***MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***I am going on the record stating that I liked this book, but was not a big fan of Liz. This story picks up where Off the Record ended. I didn't agree with how Liz was treated by Brady in the first book, but to be fair, he made his expectations and intentions clear and SHE LEFT HIM. Obviously, emotions get in the way and lines get blurred. Liz begins a relationship with the All American Good Boy, Hayden, while Brady begins one with someone else as well, even though their hearts belong with each other. This is their way of "moving on". With Liz being the new Editor of the school paper and excelling in political journalism and the youngest Maxwell, Savannah, working for the paper, their paths are bound to cross. And they do for a bit, but they go back to their separate lives. Then Hayden and Liz have a big fight and he drives her back into the arms of Brady. I was already a little put off by Liz and Hayden's relationship from the beginning. She knew how he felt about her and that his feelings were not replicated, yet she still stayed with him. And while she was justified at being upset with him after their big fight, I felt like her reaction was extremely immature and overly dramatic. Eventually, his immediate reaction to her as she spilled the truth was a more normal reaction, he was hurt, angry, brokenhearted and betrayed. Although, once he got his revenge (even though apologizes), it was a lot easier to not like him anymore and switch to Team Liz. I really would love to know more about Clay and Savannah. As far as Victoria goes, that girl is too over the top for me! I am excited to read the next installment in this series!

On the Record edition by KA Linde Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
On The Record is the second book in a trilogy. Please read Off The Record first as this book picks up where the last left off. While you may be able to follow the plot in this book, you will want to spend as much time with Brady Maxwell as possible, so read the first one. You won’t be disappointed!
Liz is watching the results of the elections come in. Although she is interested in all the election results, there is only one she is truly anxious to see. Was Brady able to win his district and become a US congressman? Was all the pain of walking away from him worth it, so he can go on with the political career he has destined for him? With a melancholy heart, he wins by a small percentage, and with that win closes the book on their relationship. It is time for Liz to try to get over Congressman Brady Maxwell.
Liz is finishing her junior year at UNC, and her teams political reporting has been stellar the last year. Liz is being groomed to take over as editor of the newspaper. That is of course when the editor, Hayden, graduates. She has had feelings for Hayden for a couple of years, but then Brady Maxwell came into her life and everything else faded. Hayden and Liz have been dating for the past few months. He is a great guy, really the perfect boyfriend and she knows this, but her heart cannot let go of a certain junior congressman. Not helping is the fact she has grown quite close to Savannah, Brady’s sister. Savannah is very tight lipped about her family, but when she slips and mentions a trivial tidbit of information, Liz’s heart aches. He has moved on and so must she.
Senior year has finally arrived and Liz is busier than ever. Hayden has accepted a job in Charlotte, so they will only be seeing each other a few times a month. With her schoolwork, running the paper and internships, Liz doesn’t have time to do much of anything else. When a huge betrayal of her trust effects both Liz and Brady, Liz is crushed. She realizes she is low as she has ever felt and she reaches out for the only person who can fix it all, Brady.
OMG, I love Brady Maxwell. This story was mostly about Liz and while I loved it, when Brady was introduced into the story again, it was spectacular. Great book and I cannot wait for the next and final book in the trilogy, For The Record, due this November, 2014. ***5 stars***
I was waiting to read this book, but felt as I was reading The Avoiding Series all over again. At times this story bored me and I found myself skipping lines and paragraphs of this book. Something thats never happened to me before. I wanted more Liz and Brady but got something else. I hope the next book is better because I thought I eas reading The Avoiding Series all pver again.
It felt like forever after the bit of a cliffhanger in Off the record. On the record basically starts up after Liz walked away from Brady. I was hoping for much less anxiety when reading this book as it was killing me with the repeatedly bad choices Liz and Brady were making. Gah! Hayden why? Sure he looks good on paper and appears to be perfect but not enough spark. As Liz tries to let go of Brady giving him the campaign so he doesn't have to make a decision but really she was trying to save herself because she couldn't bare to hear him chose the campaign over her so she made the choice for him.
Hayden has always been there but when she finally made the choice to be with him, it killed me. KILLED ME. It was well written as I was full of anxiety of repulsion during this part of the book which was most of it, but then Hayden didn't turn out as perfect as she wanted him to be. It's always hard for me to read when I want the main hero and heroine together and they are with other people when they shouldn't be, but without that were would be the angst?
Even though it as been a year. A YEAR!!! Brady and Liz still have palpable energy but have made their choices, so they try to stay away from one another but when their past is thrown into their faces Liz finally gets off her complacent ass and talks to Brady even after her more bad choices.
Brady is the more mature of the two by breaking up with his girlfriend when he realized that he still loved Liz where as Liz stayed with Hayden. She is still with Hayden until he royally screwed up even though she always loved Brady more.
Now finally at the end we get to see our favorite power couple back on track or do we????
